When clear water is not available, use the Water Bottle Pre-Filter by SteriPEN. The Pre-Filter filters out particulates and debris. Fits on Nalgene® and wide-mouth water bottles (Does not fit Klean Kanteen Wide). Filters out particulates using a 40 X 40 micron size nylon mesh filter.In order for ultraviolet (UV) light to effectively disinfect the water, any particulates, turbidity, or sedimentation need to be removed from the water.
