Steripen Emergency UV Water Purifying Pen The SteriPEN Emergency handheld and portable UV water purifier utilizes C Wavelength UV (ultraviolet light) to purifier drinking water. The UV-C light is short wave light, between x-rays and visible light wavelengths, which destroy the DNA of microbes in seconds. Without functional DNA, microbes can't reproduce or make you sick.

The SteriPEN Emergency utilizes four AA lithium batteries and has an LED light indicator. The SteriPEN Emergency EM-ONL Portable UV Water Purifier mates with current commercial water bottles as well as the SteriPEN pre-filter that fits on Nalgene wide mouth water bottles.
To use the SteriPen Emergency EM-ONL, just press the button to select 16 fl oz., or 32 fl. oz. and place the SteriPEN into the water until the UV light automatically turns off.
The SteriPEN Emergency from Hydro Photon is strong, sturdy and reliable. You can consistently rely on it to provide you with access to safe drinking water in a time of crisis. SteriPEN recommends the use of rechargeable NIMH(Nickel Metal Hydride) or disposable lithium photo type batteries. Alkaline batteries are not recommended.
The SteriPEN Emergency is also compatible with the SteriPEN FitsAll 4 micron filter adapter for removal of particulates before UV disinfection treatment.
