The small micron rating of the carbon block media removes microbial cysts that form in water primarily due to contamination, as well as lead that can be introduced from pipe corrosion, ensuring that your drinking water is safe and clean. The IL2512-CTOCL-P-TZ filter also acts as an inhibitor for scale build-up which can lead to eventual decrease in water pressure over time.
