The EV310876 is an Everpure header bypass plug. Bypass plugs are installed and removed the same way as the push in, pull out filters. Press in and turn clockwise by a quarter turn, and then release. The EV310876 Everpure plug should only be removed if a water filter is going to be installed in its place.
