Water Distiller

The water distillation process uses evaporation and condensation to separate pure, fresh water from its contaminants. The water distiller prolonged boiling process kills virtually all types of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses and parasites. Microorganisms are not evaporated into the product water but because of the water distiller, remain in the boiling chamber as part of the residue. Additionally, a water distiller system with activated carbon filtration and venting is effective in removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Use the chart below to compare home water distiller system's effectiveness of removing contaminants from water.

WATER DISTILLERS are ideal for producing clean, healthy water for many applications related to health, as well as maintaining your products which use water. Use for dental products, vaporizers, humidifiers, CPAP machines, lead-acid batteries, engine cooling systems, steam irons, waterfalls, fish aquariums, and many more. In fact, many manufacturers strongly recommend using distilled water in order to prolong the life of their products.

We are happy that you are considering using a water distiller system for your water purification needs. Water distillers are one of the most effective water treatment systems on the market for removing a majority of water contaminants. Distilled water is great for cooking, making juices, cleaning your skin, fish tanks, humidifiers, and so much more. Below is a water distiller buyer’s guide that outlines some important considerations when choosing a system.

Types of Water Distillers: There are two basic types of distiller systems: either manual or automatic.
Manual: Manual water distillers usually produce 1 gallon of water at a time. After the first gallon of water is produced, you will have to manually refill the system to produce the next gallon of water.
Automatic: Automatic water distillers are attached to a water line to continually produce pure water. Systems are monitored by electronics or float valves to stop production once the holding tanks are at a certain level.

Water Production Rates of Distiller Systems: Manual and automatic systems differ in their production rate specifications, based on the size of the boiling tank and the size of the storage tank. The capacity of a manual system is based on how many gallons of water they will produce per hour. The capacity of an automatic system is rated based on the production capacity per day.

Total Holding Capacity : This is the amount of water that can be stored after distillation. Manual distillation systems generally use either a plastic or glass jar with a capacity of 1 gallon. Automatic distillation systems can store 3-25 gallons of water in a stainless steel reservoir.

Construction Materials : An 18/8 304 food grade stainless steel is utilized on all of our automatic water distillers. A 316 stainless steel is used on the condensation coil. Some countertops distillers are made with a plastic exterior and a stainless steel boiler tank.

Dispenser Type and Distiller Post Filters: Manual dispensers are constructed of a non-leaching polypropylene #5, as well as stainless steel. Distiller carbon post filters are designed to reduce any residual tastes or odors that might have been pushed over in the distillation process. The most effective placement of a carbon post filter is after the distillation process before it enters reservoir.

Pure Water Inc Distillers

The Environmental Working Group just released a report on December 20, 2010 that hexavalent chromium or chromium-6 has been found in 31 of 35 U.S. cities. The highest levels were detected in Norman, OK; Honolulu, HI; and Riverside, CA. Awareness of the presence of chromium-6 was brought to the spotlight through the feature film "Erin Brockovich" starring Julia Roberts.

The best way to remove chromium-6 from tap water at home is with a reverse osmosis system or a water distiller. There is no legal limit for chromium-6 in either tap water or bottled water, so ensure your safety by utilizing a water distiller starting as low as $289.00.
