JACO Polypropylene Fittings With Ferrule Nut
JACO polypropylene fittings have good chemical resistance and are unaffected by most weak acids and alkalies. The maximum pressure rating for these fittings is 220 PSI. Below 175°F, they have good resistance to organic solvents. They should not be used with oxidants, strong acids, or in continuous sunlight. Polypropylene is a workhorse in the plastics industry. Though polypropylene is similar to high-density polyethylene, it is harder, more durable, and more rigid. Polypropylene is light weight and extremely valuable for high purity applications like deionized water. The polypropylene used in JACO fittings is 20% glass filled for improved stiffness, and is NSF listed.
The ferrule nut system used in JACO fittings seals by forcing the ferrule nut into the tubing wall to create an interference seal. This ensures a leakproof seal and makes the fitting resistant to vibration.
