Silbrade® reinforced silicone tubing is an open mesh polyester braiding incorporating with the walls of silicone tubing. Silbrade enables silicone tubing to handle increased pressure applications and offers exceptional resistance to temperature extremes and is made from FDA-sanctioned ingredients. Silbrade also allows excellent bend radii and permits installation in restricted spaces with impeding flow. Silbrade is a peroxide cured product and contains no sulphur or other acid producing chemicals, which eliminates the possibillity of corroding, staining, or deteriorating other materials it contacts. Peroxide-cured Silcon contains no sulphur or other acid producing chemicals, which elminates the possiblilty of corroding, staining, or deteriorating materials that come into contact with the Silcon silicone. Silcon is also extremely resistant to ozone and ultraviolet light over long periods of time.
Silcon is not recommended for implantable or in-body uses for continuous steam applications. Silcon may be low pressure steam sterilized in-line or autoclaved at up to 250º F in a normal autoclaving cycle. However, if exposed to repeated steam sterilization or long-term high temperature or pressure, silicone will eventually relax and become gummy.

Caution is recommended in the selection of fittings and clamps for silicone tubing, as sharp barbed fittings, or unlined metal clamps have the possibility of tearing into the tubing wall and possibly causing a failure.
