MTBE in Water

MTBE, or Methyl Tertiary Butyl is a chemical compound that is a gasoline additive that is used as an oxygenate and to raise the octane number, although it has declined in its use in response to environmental and health concerns. It has been found to easily polllute large quantities of groundwater when gasoline is spilled or leaked at gasoline stations. MTBE is known to have a minty taste and/or smell of turpentine.

MTBE Water Treatment

MTBE can be significantly reduced from your drinking water with the use of an activated carbon block at a micron level of 0.5, that is rated for MTBE.
