The 300 SS (Series 87) standard grade of steel is used as a high performance alternative to the 201 (67 Series) standard grade of steel. The 300 SS (Series 87) contains a high content of nickel providing strong corrosion resistance and is suitable for outdoor use with no shielding.

304 Screw (Series 87) vs. 410 Screw (Series 67)

The 304 screw (Series 87) has a high content of nickel. The 410 (Series 67) offers no nickel content. Type 304 (Series 87) when finished could be used where a non-magnetic material is required, where as the 410 (Series 67) cannot. The 304 (Series 87) screw rod is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and many organic chemicals and a wide variety of inorganic chemicals, while the 410 (Series 67) typically will resist corrosion in only light industrial and domestic environments.
